The Executioners Three by Susan Dennard

This book was such a fun, spooky read! Just in time for spooky season!

I loved the eerie atmosphere and the unfolding mystery, as well as the soft horror elements. This was a YA book, so it didn’t get too crazy or graphic, but I enjoyed the liberties the author took to keep some of the events and characters creepy.

The rivals-to-lovers dynamic was more of a gentle feud than outright hostility, which, for me, made the romance more enjoyable and low stakes. It definitely had some steamy make-out scenes, but I wasn't mad about it.

This book had just enough little horror elements that it was able to give me a spooky visual while also still being appropriate for YA.

I’m a big fan of folklore and legends so the town curses and legends in this book were what enticed me the most. The female main character is really likeable as well as the male main character.

It was just a good time. It's great to get you in the mood for Halloween.

If you like Sleepy Hollow, Scooby Doo and the 90s, then you will love this book.
