This book was so good! The way he had to adapt to the different culture and even the one he was raised in is something I can't imagine myself being able to do. His life was very hard but there were some really good and happy parts, so it wasn't all bad things. I loved the history and the ways things were like back then. The author did a great job with the writing and putting everything together. Of course this was a Newbery so how could it not be good.
